Religious Education

RE at Ellingham

At Ellingham, we believe that Religious Education (RE) plays a crucial role in helping our pupils develop an understanding of the world around them, fostering respect for diverse beliefs, and encouraging personal reflection on values and ethics. Our RE curriculum provides students with the opportunity to explore different religions, traditions, and worldviews, building a foundation of knowledge and respect for the rich tapestry of faiths that shape our world.

Our Approach to RE

In our Primary School, RE is taught in a way that is engaging, inclusive, and accessible to all children. We aim to:

We are committed to ensuring that every child receives a rich, rewarding experience in religious education that not only builds knowledge but also fosters a positive attitude towards learning, respect for others, and a deep sense of personal responsibility. Educational visits to places of worship will bring the learning to life by offering the children the opportunity to reflect on how a faith building can enrich worship experiences and provide a base for the outworking of faith in the community.

Further information can be found in our RE Curriculum Policy. If you have any questions or would like to know more about the RE curriculum at Ellingham, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
