LEARNING TOGETHER

Year 6 Budding Artists

Year 6 have really blown us away with their sketching and shading skills! They warmed up by taking their pencil 'for a walk', exploring  different shading techniques such as stippling, cross-hatching and contouring, as well as experimenting with different shades of pencils and charcoal. Our budding artists then applied these skills to recreate images of WW2 art work. Take a look at their incredible work!

Year 5 Engineers of the future

Year 5 have been researching different beam designs in order to make their bridges at the end of this half term. They were thinking about which design would carry the most weight and which would be the most sturdy. They really enjoyed making them.

Year 4 Digest New Science

This term, Year 4 have been exploring teeth and digestion. We completed a science experiment and in groups we demonstrated how our digestive system works.

The children really enjoyed discovering how the stomach acid supports with the breakdown food, how the small intestine passes vital nutrients to the body and finally, how the waste exits the body.

Year 3 Library Trip

Our Year 3 explorers wrapped up warmly to venture to Hook library for story time and a treasure hunt.  The children really enjoyed it.

If you haven't signed up for a library ticket, please do go along.  The staff are really helpful and the children certainly know what to do.

Year 2 The countdown is on!

Year 2 learnt all about advent in RE this week and why it is important to Christians. Advent is the four-week lead up to Christmas where Christians prepare for the celebration of Jesus' birth. The children enjoyed making their very own advent wreaths.

Year 2 Time Travellers

Year 2 have been busy writing their own newspaper reports all about Ellingham children time travelling all the way back to 1666! These fantastic reports are going to be made into our very own newspaper and shown to all the other children in the school, so keep your eyes peeled!

Year 2 Reindeer run - And they're off!

Year 2 completed their first mile of the reindeer run today. The cold weather didn't stop them and they soon warmed up after a few laps of the playground. The children have 23 miles left to run, all to raise money for the RNLI.

It is not too late to show your support by sponsoring them using the link:

Reception Mathematicians

Reception have been finding out about parts and wholes in Maths. These are the whole shapes we can make with five parts!
