ELLINGHAM SCHOOL NEWS
A Great First Week
It has been lovely to have the children back to school and they have settled in so nicely and already demonstrating excellent behaviour for learning. Thank you for ensuring that they are so smart in their uniforms. Please ensure that the school PE uniform is worn on PE days.
Entry to School at the Beginning and End of the Day
Our gates open at 8.35 and 3.05 and we would ask you to not enter before then as, until those times, we cannot guarantee that school staff are available outside and present to ensure that the children are safeguarded. If you need to speak to the office, you can do this after these times or email office@elp.rbksch.org or call them on 0208 397 3864.
The gate will be opened for Explorers' families in the morning of course.
Explorers Breakfast & Afterschool Club
We welcomed back lots of children to Breakfast & Afterschool this week, but we have space if any families need to book in.
Further information with costs and how to book is here. If you are entitled to tax-free childcare, you can use it for Explorers.
Bookings should be made at least 24 hours in advance. If you have a last minute booking, please call the school office and we will try to accommodate it if possible.
Application for secondary schools
The dates for open days and evenings are now available for local secondary schools. Please see further information here. Closing date for applications is 31st October 2024.
Meet the Teacher
Please come along to meet your child's new teacher and have an informal chat about what will be happening this year in terms of trips, events and learning. The teachers will share the end of year expectations and how we help children achieve these. Bring your childrena and they can show you their classroom too.
Come along to the classroom anytime between 3.30 and 4.30 on Wednesday 2nd October for Years 1, 2, 4 and 5 and Thursday 3rd October for Year 3.
It will be a different format for Year 6 as there will be a more formal presentation from the Year 6 teachers at 3.30 prompt. This will cover secondary applications and admissions and give a quick overview of the residential and SATs.
