ELLINGHAM SCHOOL NEWS

Welcome back

We started our week back with Year 6 going away for their residential trip and we welcomed them back to school this afternoon after a wonderful four days of fun. They're happily exhausted after lots of activities including buggy building, climbing and a great afternoon at Thorpe Lakes on the inflatables.  Thank you to the whole staff team who went with them and supporting from school.

We've been keeping Year 6 families up to date with lots of photos during the week which you can see here.

The value this week has been courage linked to the 80th D-Day commemorations.  Our assembly on Tuesday talked about the history behind this and today we shared how the international community had shown their respect for this historic day.

Friends of Ellingham Mufti / Non-Uniform days

The staff and children will be happy to hear that next Friday 14th June and Friday 21st June are both mufti/non-uniform days! Your child is invited into school on both of these days wearing their own clothes. Please make sure the clothes and footwear are suitable for school. In exchange, Friends of Ellingham are asking for donations for the popular Summer fair tombola stalls.

Friday 16th June - collecting sweets

Friday 23rd June - collecting bottles (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)

The Summer Fair is on Saturday 29th June so please do check the best before dates on both the sweets and bottles.

Raffle Tickets

Thank you for all the raffle tickets that have been sold so far. This is a great fund-raiser for the school so, if you need more, there will be spare tickets available from the school office on request.  There are some great prizes for all the family.

...plus much more!

Thank you for your continued support,

 Friends of Ellingham

LEARNING TOGETHER

Year 5 Composers

Year 5 have started learning how to play the recorder in our music lessons. They will be working towards composing music to compliment  the song they have been learning- 'Groove with you'.

They can't wait to show you their final compositions!

Well done to our Year 5 cricketers, who came second in their group.
