Our nursery team is passionate about helping all our children blossom in confidence, friendships and language. We strive for the very best learning in a caring environment and have fun while we're doing it!
You, our families, are an important part of the team and we are committed to working in partnership with you to ensure that your children have the most positive start to their education. Our friendly and welcoming nursery is alive with the sound of giggles and hands on exploration and learning. The team build on the children's natural curiosity for the world. We prepare them to be engaged and resilient, happy and excited to come to nursery and onto big school.

Apply for a place
Apply for a place
Children are eligible for Nursery the term after they turn 3 years old. Parents who are eligible for 30 hours (15 additional hours of care) as well as parents who wish to pay for additional hours care can apply for a full time place for their child.
To apply for a nursery place at Ellingham Primary School, please complete the form (click for link). Alternatively please contact the school directly for an application form.

Please submit the completed application form along with a copy of your child's birth certificate and a utility bill (less than 3 months old).

Our Day
Nursery is available 8.30 - 11.30 for morning sessions and 12.15 to 3.15 for afternoon sessions.
There is an option to pay to stay for lunch and a hot meal can be provided.
A typical day
8.30am Arrive
8.30-11.00 am Play inside and out.
11.00-11.10am Tidy up
11.10am Gathering time
11.10-11.25am Story group time
11.30am Lunch Club.
12.15pm Play inside and out
2.55-3.00pm Tidy up
3.00-3.10pm Gathering time/singing
3.15pm Home Time

Keeping in Touch with Your Child's Learning
Whilst your child is in our Early Years (Nursery and Reception), we collect observations to help us assess their development and to inform our planning.
We use an online app called Tapestry to record photos and written comments about your child's learning. Parents can access the journal by downloading it onto their phone, tablet or computer. It enables us to share photos, videos and comments with parents on a weekly basis and enable parents to to contribute to your child’s journal making the assessment process a shared record.
