Reception children created their own poppies to mark Remembrance day. Through this art, the children started to understand the significance of poppies as a symbol of November 11th.
Through painting and silhouettes, Year 2 created art that represents the soldiers commemorated on Remembrance Day.
Harley (5O) and Lyla (5G) have been inspired by famous artist Nicholas Roerich in art this week.
We looked at his spiritualistic style and then recreated one of his mountain landscapes using oil pastels.
Don't their representations take you on a journey?
Some of our Year 6 Ambassadors visited Southborough High School this week for a Mental Health Conference.
They had a fantastic morning and devised and discussed an action plan on how to support the children at Ellingham Primary School.
We were very proud of how well they contributed and represented our school.
Compass Estate agents are sponsoring our Christmas Celebrations and make a donation to the Friends of Ellingham for advertising boards put up in the Chessington area.
The boards will go up around the 16/17th November and come down around the 15/16th December.
If this is something that you are happy to do, please email Friends of Ellingham or Compass Chessington.
“Smiles2Smiles is a registered charity serving the local community. Clare Bell is the founder and started packing Christmas hampers for families from her living room in 2012. She now has a team of local mums supporting her as the charity has been growing rapidly with more than 300 Christmas hampers distributed last year alone.
Smiles2Smiles receive their nominations from churches, schools, doctor surgeries, woman’s refuges and local children services. The aim is to provide a little support and create as many “smiles” as possible over the festive season for those in desperate need.
We couldn’t run Smiles2Smiles without the support of everyone in the community who help us by donating and volunteering.
RBK SW London Basic Command Unit Met Police Team is fighting Catalytic Converter Crime and will hold an event to mark converters. This acts as a deterrent and if it is stolen may help in tracking.
